The Old Sant Roc Hospital as an emblematic building in the town, the working structure of the IEV and its desire to collaborate and actively take part in all projects which are connected with their objectives have allowed, with time, to embark other sociocultural initiatives.

This came about when the Fundació Fransesc Blasi created in Barcelona in 1949, moved to Valls. This educational and charitable institution has been organising the unification of the different existing foundations, prizes and legates. It has also acquired the necessary ability to embark on new foundational initiatives. The funds destined to prizes and grants, which sum up to over 12,000 Euros annually, are divided into six categories which basically cover three general themes: art, history and regional promotion .
