There are different ways of collaborating with the Instiut d'Estudis Vallencs:

People are very important in a cultural organisation such as the IEV. Our activities are generated through the volunteers' work, together with the help of the Secretary. The numbered members join a work group which meets their interests, and actively collaborate with the entity. This could be by either putting forward ideas for events, dedicating time to research, doing specialised assessments, organising exhibitions, elaborating monographic work, putting together photographic reports, or helping out with publication work etc. The entity's infrastructure is available to our members, and we only ask for a piece of their free time to work for the promotion and preservation of the cultural, historic and natural heritage of Valls and the Alt Camp. These collaborate with the entity by buying our publications. Subscribers can take advantage of the different services offered by the entity (30% discount on our own publications, and those included in our agreement, the mailing of Full del Mes, personalised information about events held in the Old Sant Roc Hospital, discounts on entrance fees for the Valls cinema club, access to the library and press library with a lending card, access to the Open University (UOC) support line, exhibition halls, meeting and training rooms, recognised courses with credits, information on further studies, special tariffs on chargeable events, organisation of various prizes, assessment and reports, IEV membership card etc...). In return subscribers are required to buy books which are periodically published in the "Biblioteca d'Estudis Vallencs" collection and the six-monthly magazine Quaderns de Vilaniu/ Miscel.lània de l'Alt Camp. Other publications are optional. Up to date information on subscription has been published at the end of every volume in the "Biblioteca d'Estudis Vallencs" since 1962.

This figure was created in 1993. This is aimed at people, institutions, companies etc. who value the cultural work done at the IEV. A collaborating member pays a voluntary non-set annual fee which is also tax deducible. This member can take advantage of the same benefits as a subscriber, and can also purchase any of the publications offered by the IEV with a 30% discount. They also have other advantages such as gift publications, limited editions of cultural items, etc.
